Diamond Head Crater & State Monument
The iconic profile of Diamond Head the State Monument are just a short walk, bus or cab ride from the hotel. Diamond Head (Lēʻahi) is a very worthwhile hike, affording spectacular views of Waikiki and the gorgeous eastern coastline of Oahu from the summit, at 560 feet. The steep trailhead begins inside the crater and will take you through just under a mile of paved path, trail, lighted tunnels and steep stairs to the very top, where you can often see migrating humpback whales in winter. The trail is open 365 days of the year from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Manoa Falls Trail
For an easy hike with lots of tropical rainforest and waterfall views, look no further than the Manoa Falls trail, located in the nearby Manoa Valley. The trail is well marked and suitable for all levels of ability and is just under a mile long.
