Green Hotel

Malama ka ‘Aina means “caring for our land.” The Waikiki Sand Villa hotel takes an environmentally conscious approach towards business by being energy efficient, recycling and using products that are environmentally friendly. We have also implemented several policies to help protect our environment, conserve precious water and energy resources.

CURRENT LOHAS EFFORTS

• We Recycle glass and plastic. All bottles from our Sand Bar are collected and picked up weekly for recycling. Our housekeepers remove empty bottles and cans from guest rooms daily for recycling
• We Recycle and Reuse Paper. Paper is reused for printing and as scratchpads. Old phone books are picked up yearly for recycling
• We Recycle ink cartridges and toners.
• Installed signage in each room providing linen and towel options.
• We use CFL (compact fluorescent lighting) lights.
• Towels are recycled as Pool Towels.
• We have installed timers and/or photo eyes on many of our lights to maximize energy efficiency.
• Provide a well-equipped, complimentary fitness center to all registered hotel guests and employees.
• Winnie’s Skin Care Therapy offers facials and massages and other services [fees apply].
