A: There are several options for travel to and from the Honolulu International Airport.
Our Shuttle Service: We provide a free airport shuttle service to guests who book a minimum of four consecutive room nights directly through our website at www.WaikikiSandVillaHotel.com.
This is for guests traveling to and from the airport only and the shuttle does stop at other locations, such as the pier or rental car companies. The shuttle offer is not valid for reservations made on third-party websites or through agents.
Other Shuttle Services:

A: The Waikiki Sand Villa Hotel is located on the corner of Kanakapolei Street and Ala Wai Boulevard, in the heart of Waikiki.
From Honolulu International Airport, take Nimitz Hwy. heading Eastbound. Nimitz Hwy. turns into Ala Moana Blvd. Follow Ala Moana Blvd. to Waikiki, where it ends at Kalakaua Avenue.
Turn right on Kalakaua Ave., which promptly splits into Kuhio Ave. on the left. Proceed left onto Kuhio Avenue, then turn left again on Kanekapolei Street. You’ll find the Waikiki Sand Villa Hotel located on the right, the last property before you reach the T-stop at the Ala Wai Canal.

A: Yes, we provide valet parking service at a rate of $22 per night, which includes unlimited in-and-out privileges. We do not offer self-parking. Effective January 1, 2017, the parking rate will be $25 per night.

Q: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STANDARD, DELUXE, PREMIUM AND KITCHENETTE ROOMS?
A: All of our rooms offer the same amenities, but are categorized according to the view they offer. You may choose from Standard, Deluxe, Premium, Premium Golf Course View and Premium City View categories. In addition, we also offer our popular Pualeilani Junior Kitchenette Suites, as well as our most prestigious accommodation, the Ali'i Suite with kitchenette. Room choices also may include two double, permanent triple, queen, and king size bedding.
Q: DO YOU HAVE ROOMS WITH KITCHENS?
A: Yes, we offer 10 Pualeilani Studio Suites that include a fully equipped kitchenette. These suites are 484 square feet and accommodate up to four people without extra charge. The kitchenettes include a 2-burner stove, microwave, refrigerator, a coffee maker, toaster and rice cooker.

A: Bed sizes are based upon availability and are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Please make a request at the time of your reservation and we will try our best to accommodate your needs.
Q: CAN I USE MY PARENT'S OR RELATIVE'S CREDIT CARD TO SECURE MY RESERVATION?
A: Yes, you may use someone’s credit card to secure your room reservation, but please note that the credit card owner will be asked to provide us with their written authorization. We will be happy to provide him/her with an authorization form upon request.
Q: WHAT IS THE ROOM COST WITH TAXES INCLUDED?
A: The Hawaii tax rate is currently 13.962%. Therefore, if your room rate is $100, the added tax will be $13.96, and the total charge for one night will be $113.96. (Tax rate is subject to change in accordance to Hawaii State law).

A: Guests must be 18 years or older to check in at our hotel with their own credit card. Guests will be asked to provide proof of age I.D. (passport or driver's license) upon check-in.

A: We ask that you provide a valid form of identification with proof of age (a passport or driver's license), in addition to a security deposit upon check-in. INTERNET FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: HOW DO I CONNECT TO YOUR HIGH-SPEED GUEST NETWORK?
A: The Waikiki Sand Villa Hotel offers complimentary wired internet connections in all rooms, in addition to wireless connectivity throughout the entire property. Most laptops purchased within the past four years come equipped with these two “standard” connections.
Simply turn on your wireless adapter and allow it to search for Sand Villa Wireless network. A password is required. Please contact the front desk for the current password.
You can connect directly in the room by using a standard network Ethernet cable (Cat5-RJ45). If you’ve left yours behind at home, we would be happy to provide you with one. You will be asked to put a credit card on file or for a small, nominal deposit that will be refunded when you return the cable.
Modem/dial-up (legacy ware):
The hotel also offers modem/dial-up connectivity. Please be aware of the following limitations:
A) this connection goes through our phone switch and is analog, not digital. The phone switch has no way of knowing if you are dialing a modem connection.
B) Toll-Free is No Fee, but there will be charges for any number your modem dials directly.
C) Because it is analog, it is EXTREMELY slow. Some connections cannot be made.
Q: HOW CAN I SEND AND RECEIVE E-MAIL AND PICTURES USING THE HOTEL’S GUEST NETWORK?
A: You can use your own pre-configured emailing system using our network’s SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) which is automatically configured once you connect with your own laptop.
The Waikiki Sand Villa Hotel also offers free computer access for our guests in the Hospitality Room located on the “H” floor. Here you can use any third party mailing system such as Yahoo, Gmail, MSN/ Hotmail, just to name a few, to send email and pictures from your camera.
You will need to use your own camera’s USB connection on our public PCs. We highly recommended that you register to one of these emailing services prior to your travels as Outlook Express or Office Outlook have been removed from our public computers. This is a plus as you can travel and use any PC to send and receive e-mail. We also recommend that you use a portable USB flash drive if you wish to transfer files and photographs using our PCs.
Q: AT WORK WE HAVE A FIREWALL TO PROTECT OUR LAPTOPS/NOTEBOOKS AND PCS. WHAT PROTECTION IS THERE WHEN I CONNECT MY LAPTOP/NOTEBOOK TO YOUR GUEST NETWORK?
A: We do provide Client Isolation on the wireless and wired network so each laptop/notebook or PC will only talk to the router and not with other PCs or laptops on the network.
We have no firewalls in place with the exception of our public PCs in the Hospitality Room (complimentary) and at the Sand Bar PCs (fee based). Our property PCs are designed to erase entered private information such as passwords and files left on the desktop after a user session. Always remember to LOG OFF.
If you have children travelling with you, be sure to use parental guidance controls on your laptop/notebook’s browser or already installed monitoring program as the “in-room” network is OPEN. Always use common user sense when using public computers to best protect your privacy and browsing experience.
We also use Open DNS to prevent access to undesirable websites in our business/family-friendly network in the Hospitality Room and at the Sand Bar. Those rules do not apply in the guest room connections; however, we do monitor for heavy bandwidth loading programs such as Bit Torrent, P2Ps, and streaming media, etc. We prefer all of our guests to share a pleasant browsing experience and not be bogged down by these heavy loading programs.
Those users may be subject to temporary or permanent disconnection from the private Guest Network. Our Guest Network is OPEN so it is up to the guest to maintain security programs (Anti-Virus, Firewalls, spy and mal-ware protection) on their own computers.
